Many people don’t know that Massage Therapists can massage your jaw, and I mean inside your jaw! Tightness in the jaw can lead to headaches and difficulty chewing. This treatment can feel intense as we work into the deeper jaw muscles. To effectively target the tight muscles around the jaw, it is best to perform an intraoral treatment as well as an extraoral massage. You may feel slight discomfort during the treatment and some soreness the next day (similar to a Deep Tissue treatment) but your jaw will feel looser once the soreness subsides. This treatment is perfect for patients who are stressed leading to teeth grinding at night (bruxism); before going to the dentist; or experience regular tension headaches. This treatment includes a massage to the shoulders, neck, jaw, face and scalp.
